Two-four cubic yard capacity containers have been placed at central locations to allow individuals to deposit separated recyclable materials. The Headwaters Project started collecting aluminum, tin and newspaper on September, 1997 at 57 sites, serving 95,000 people and covering 91,000 square miles of Montana.
