Casper College's Environmental Training Center provides work force environmental training in the areas of: water and wastewater treatment, landfill operations, hazardous wastesite operations and emergency response, pollution prevention and OHSA regulations. The college also provides on site technical assistance in wastewater operations to publicly owned treatment plants in Wyoming through a USEPA 104(g)(1) grant project. The College is in the 15th year of this grant. Casper College is a Partnership for Environmental Technology and Education (PETE) College and was recently designated as an Energy Star Energy Efficiency Center.

Denver AIA Sustainable Design Resource Guide

One of the most difficult aspects of environmentally-responsible design is to find the most suitable materials and available products that help sustain the earth and human health. Until now, it has been difficult to find sources for suitable materials and products from local or regional sources. Through the leadership of two local organizations, a multi-disciplinary group of building professionals created this Sustainable Design Resource Guide. The Denver Chapter of the American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment and the Colorado Chapter of Architects, Designers, and Planners for Social Responsibility have worked together to provide a convenient resource and to fill a need not covered by other guides.

This is the national program office for "healthy indoor air for america's homes," a partnership project of the u.s. Environmental protection agency, the uspa and montana state university extension service housing program. The program is a consumer education effort concerned with improving the quality of indoor air in homes - moisture and biologicals, combustion products, formaldehyde, radon, household products and furnishings, asbestos, lead, particulates, tabacco smoke.

Since 1976 the National Center for Appropriate Technology has been serving economically disadvantaged people by providing information and access to appropriate technologies that can help improve their lives. During the organization's rich and varied history, NCAT projects have ranged from low-tech to high-tech, addressing complex issues of housing, economics, and environmental quality. Weatherizing houses, training farmers, monitoring energy use, demonstrating renewable energy technology, testing new products and providing information on building construction are just a few of the many ways that NCAT has contributed to fostering healthy communities and a better quality of life for everyone. Kath Williams is Project Chief for Montana State University's "Green Building Project" the EPICenter. She serves as Assistant to Vice President of Research, Creativity, and Technology Transfer for Special Projects. Kath is a member of the Executive Committee and board member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and a principal investigator on two major Department of Commerce/National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) grants to research and develop "green building" technologies.
