Description:
This California state agency is responsible for working with local governments to develop markets for California's landfill waste, to work toward fulfilling landfill reduction mandates, and to assure that there are safe and adequate landfill facilities available. The office maintains a recycling information hotline (800.553.2962) as a free service to California residents, to supply assistance in locating convenient recycling centers for unused oil and other recyclable materials. The Hotline also functions as a publications clearinghouse. The agency also has their annual Waste Reduction Awards that recognizes businesses that have adopted good recycling programs.
