Over the past twelve years, CEDG has gained important experience designing green architecture. Sycamore Plaza, their own office building, features natural daylighting, solar heating and passive cooling, as well as drought-tolerant plantings, drip irrigation and permeable pavements. Deborah Weintraub, AIA, is a licensed architect in California and New York with published work. She is co-chair of the Los Angeles, Americal Institute of Architects, Committee on the Environment (COTE) and is involved in the environmental design association through monthly meetings, sponsoring speaker symposiums, publications and environmental design workshops. In 1996, Deborah was the primary organizer for an environmental design charette for the City of Santa Monica, co-sponsored by COTE/LA and the Eco-Cities Council. She is a member of the City of Los Angeles Sustainable Design Task Force, formulating ways to integrate environmental consciousness into city construction and design and a Trade Officer for the Canadian Consulate General, Los Angeles encouraging cross border collaboration with Canadian environmental professionals.

It is named after his earth-and-fire building method of "Ceramic Houses." John Lyle applies the concepts of regenerative design in architecture, landscape architecture and ecological planning. He is interested primarily in educational, residential and recreational projects that have potential for advancing the art and science of regenerative design. He founded and directed the design of Cal Poly's Center for Regenerative Studies and is presently working on designs and planning of several educational centers based on the same principles. Peter Wowkowych is an architect working in the high desert with Nader Khalili and the Cal Earth/Geltaftan Foundation building prototype masonry, adobe and superadobe structures. Nader Khalili's prototypes have been built to pass California's stringent earthquake codes. The work focuses on building earth structures responsive to environmental, economic and multi-cultural needs. Peter is currently completing a Master's degree thesis with Mr. Khalili which addresses the grave need to introduce earth architecture into our main stream culture.
