Michael Powers is currently Deputy Director of Planning, Santa Barbara County Association of Governments. He directs a staff of four in the preparation of the regional transportation plan, air quality conformity assessments, traffic modeling scenarios, growth forecasts, socioeconomic assessments, among other projects. He has also worked for the Inyo County Planning Department and the Greater Vancouver Regional District in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. He received his Master of Sciences in Planning from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and has a B.A. in Geography from U.C. Davis.
