Building Concerns
Supporting Ecologically Sustainable Design + Building

Building Concerns, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is committed to fostering a better understanding of ecologically appropriate designing, building and development principles and standards, and to help promote these practices throughout the world.

Building Concerns compiles and disseminates the most current green building and development information available. Through educational programs and partnerships, Building Concerns assists in making consumers and professionals more aware of broadbased and specific environmental concerns that affect the way we build and use our buildings. Building Concerns' goal is to provide the information and tools needed to help facilitate the implementation of designing, building and development that ceases to compromise the quality of living for all present and future species.

In 1991 Building Concerns published the first green design and building newsletter and national resource guide. Today the organizations continues its program to produce regional resource directories, like this one, as important tools for networking and partnering.

Building Concerns is currently developing programs for regional Green Living Centers to guide consumers toward understanding their daily environmental impacts and how to vote every day with their dollars for environmental well-being .
